Stephen Miller Paralympian
On Tuesday, Stephen Miller visited Grange. He is a paralympian who has won lots of medals throwing a club. His main message was - “Let’s celebrate what makes us different and what makes us special. We are all good at something.” He was truly inspirational and the children LOVED listening to him and completing his athletic challenges.
Mr Allen, our new PE Lead, arranged for a group of 8 children from Year 2, 3 and 4 to go to South Gosforth First School on Thursday to take part in a Taekwondo event.
Our Year 3 and 4 running teams certainly achieved this when they competed in the Northumberland Schools’ Cross Country event at Temple Park in South Shields. It is a challenging course across the grass and up quite a steep hill. We entered 4 teams into the event and they all did brilliantly. They were all determined to cross the finish line as fast as they could. Congratulations to them all. We are very proud of you!
Quad Kids
On Tuesday, Mr MacDermott took a team of KS2 children to Ravenswood Primary to participate in a Quad Kids event. We took part in running, throwing and jumping events. Our children demonstrated an excellent sporting attitude, determination and resilience. Well done to all of them!
Mr MacDermott took a team of Year 4 boys and girls to Kenton High School on Wednesday for a Gosforth First School Tournament. They played so well and came home with a silver medal! They were very respectful of the officials and supportive of each other. Well done Team Grange!
On Tuesday, we hosted a cross country event for all Gosforth first schools. 12 boys and 12 girls from Grange ran the challenging course in the heat and did themselves proud! Our Year 3 team and Year 4 team both came second out of 7 schools - well done everyone!
