Attendance
At Grange we strive for at least 97% attendance for all our children.
Excellent attendance and punctuality helps support friendships at school and prepares your child for the future.
Absence from school will have a negative effect on your child’s progress. We believe working in partnership with parents and carers is the best way to improve outcome for our children.
We monitor attendance and punctuality closely and if your child is regularly absent or late, we may contact you to discuss how we can improve the situation.
We reward children for achieving 100% attendance in a week with the chance of joining Mrs Clougher and Mrs Kidd-Scannell on Top Table on Friday lunchtime.
Below is a table which highlights the impact absences can have over a school year.
Attendance | Description | Absence over a school year |
98% + | Excellent - a great achievement | < 4 days |
96.0-97.9% | Good - well done | Up to 7.5 days |
94.0-95.9% | Satisfactory - aim for no further absences | Up to 11.5 days |
90.0 -93.9% | Requiring rapid improvement | Up to 19 days |
< 90% | Persistent Absence | 20 days + |
